Area Day - History of Flower Arranging Day - June 2024

Margaret Rumens from Solihull, a National Judge and Adjuticator, National Demonstrator and Adjuticator and National Teacher, took a group of members through the different periods of flower arranging, the plant materials, accessories, settings and meanings and symbols through the ages. Several attendees brought exhibits staged in the manner of period designs, whilst others produced exhibits that interpreted those periods in a tradional or contemporary manner. The group then looked at a variety of artefacts depicting the periods and set up still life exhibits using some of them. Some of the designs are shown below.

The Shrewsbury Flower Show Floral Art competitions returned with an increased number of entries on last year and a good number of visitors to view all the creations. Congratulations to M&NW members who entered and to those who won!

Shrewsbury Flower Show August 2022 - Time To Celebrate

On one of the hottest weekends of the year, The Shrewsbury Flower Show returned after three years, staged in The Quarry Gardens in Shrewsbury. The Floral Art marquee is well supported by Area members - congratuations to all who entered.
